How Non-Invasive Ultherapy Works to Lift and Tighten Your Skin

Are aging and gravity taking a toll on your looks? Non-surgical skin tightening is becoming the “no-scalpel” option for patients who want an alternative to cosmetic surgery. In fact, these types of procedures increased by more than 15% from 2016 to 2017 alone.

At Amour Medical Aesthetics, David Alonso, MD and his team offer ultherapy, a safe, effective method of boosting collagen production and tightening sagging skin for a younger, fresher look.

While ultherapy doesn’t produce the exact results of a surgical facelift, many find this option more than satisfactory.

What is Ultherapy?

Our aesthetic professionals use safe, tested, FDA-approved ultrasound technology in a two-step ultherapy treatment:

First, they will utilize ultrasound as an imaging system, identifying areas that can benefit from therapy in order to tighten and raise sagging skin.

Second, they will use ultrasound energy focused on those areas, stimulating your body's natural response in order to boost collagen production.

The process is non-invasive, isn’t painful, and can deliver incredible results over time.

How does Ultherapy work?

Ultherapy stimulates the subcutaneous tissue (layers just under your skin). When the tissue is heated slightly by the focused ultrasound energy, collagen fibers contract, tightening the skin surface and signalling the body to produce more collagen.

Following the ultherapy treatment, new collagen production fills in and plumps out fine lines and wrinkles, which can lead to fresher, fuller features and a younger appearance.

This treatment is FDA-approved for skin around the eyebrows, under the chin, on the neck, and on the upper chest.

What can I expect from Ultherapy treatment?

An ultherapy session can last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the areas being treated.

Most patients report that they feel a mild warming sensation, which may increase to a light stinging during treatment. Your provider will give you a numbing cream and medication if you wish to help improve comfort.

What are the side effects of Ultherapy?

Once the ultherapy session is over, the side effects are few and fade quickly. You might have some light swelling, redness or puffiness; bruising; or small welts, but this will quickly go away. Most people feel that they can go back to work immediately.

When will I see results?

You’ll see results begin to show in a few weeks as your body makes new collagen, and full results are typically visible in three months. If needed, you can schedule more appointments to perfect your look and maintain it long-term.
